Beyond The Parks: Relaxing In The “Outside World” – Day 5
This morning, we got up and had coffee on the balcony overlooking the lake, before heading down to the pool to relax for the rest of the morning and early afternoon.
Once we got cleaned up we Ubered over to Disney Springs. One thing Mom and Dad wanted to do this trip was take a ride in the hot air balloon. It goes up about 400 feet above Disney Springs and offers wonderful views of Disney World as well as the city. (click on thumbnails for full-sized pictures)
Then we headed to Jock Lindsey’s Hanger (or right now Holiday) Bar for drinks and a late lunch. This fun little bar is themed after Indiana Jones’ pilot Jock Lindsey and is full of artifacts from all his adventures. Today was the first day of their holiday menu, so we had to try a couple of items off of it, including the naughty deviled eggs. (yes there is a nice version too) There is also an amazing-looking hot chocolate flight that I really wanted to try, but it was way too hot today for that, so I plan on coming back to try it one evening when I am here in December.
After lunch, I walked around taking pictures of some of the beautiful trees that are part of The Disney Springs Christmas Tree Stroll. I will be back next month and hopefully will be able to spend part of a day seeing all of them.
Then, we slowly walked over to the West Side as we had reservations for the 5:30 Cirque Du Soleil show, Drawn to Life.
We have watched the previous show, La Nouba in the past, but this was the first time seeing this show. It was amazing and I will definitely be back to watch it again.
We ended the night watching the Magic Kingdom Christmas Party fireworks from our balcony.
