Beyond The Parks: Relaxing In The “Outside World” – Day 7
Today was my birthday and I wanted to go to Epcot for breakfast in France. We decided to Uber to Hollywood Studios so we could take the Skyliner to the International Gateway entrance, stopping for a coffee when we changed Skyliners at Caribbean Beach Resort.
Once we got there, I got my normal breakfast of a Béchamel, Ham, and Cheese Galette with a Mimosa. Marc went to the bakery to get a breakfast sandwich and a baguette. Then we found a quiet little table overlooking the Skyliner to eat and people-watch.
After breakfast, we slowly wandered through the rest of the World Showcase, checked out the Christmas decorations, and rode The Three Caballeros ride in Mexico.
I had a virtual queue for Guardians of the Galaxy this morning so we headed over there to see how long the line was. The line was extremely long, and even though it’s one of the best rides at Disney, I didn’t want to wait a long time, especially since Marc doesn’t ride it. He said he didn’t care and would find something to do while he waited, but since it was our last day I didn’t want to waste part of it line. Instead, I opted to get a Mimosa Flight from Shimmering Sips and Marc got a Cake Pop, from Swirled Showcase.
We found a table along the water near United Kingdom to sit and relax before making our way out of Epcot.
We walked over to the Beach Club Resort to catch an Uber as it was much closer than walking back to the front of the park. Once we got there I was happy to see they had their gingerbread carousel up in the lobby so we stopped to take pictures before heading back to our resort.
When we got back, Mom and Dad were down at the pool, so we joined them. After swimming and sitting in the hot tub for a couple of hours, we headed back up to the room to shower and get our bags packed, since we leave early tomorrow morning. Around 5:00 we Ubered over to Disney Springs for dinner. Mom, Dad, and I ate at Earl of Sandwich and Marc got Pizza from Pizza Ponte. Then we spent the rest of the evening watching Southbound, one of my favorite local bands, before heading back to the resort to finish packing and get to bed.
It was a great trip and although I’m not ready to go home, I’ll be back next month to enjoy the Festival of The Holidays at Epcot and see the new fireworks show, Luminous The Symphony of Us, which debuts on December 5th.
