The Epic Wine and Dine Race Weekend -Day 1
We were up at 4:30 to catch our 6:10 flight out of Wichita. Our connecting flight in St Louis was delayed so I used that opportunity to get the work done I needed to do today, which means I won’t have to do it tonight!
We landed around noon, picked up our bag, called an Uber, and arrived at our Resort, a little after 1:00. While we were in St Louis, we got a text saying our room was ready, so we could go directly there and get settled in.
For the first five nights of this trip, we are staying at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort. The theme of this beautiful resort is a mix of the Spanish, Mexican, and American Southwest cultures. It is also the largest of the Moderate resorts and features a convention center. The most recent addition to the resort, The Gran Destino Tower along with its new rooftop dining and lounges, has made this resort feel more like a Deluxe. Our original plan was to spend the afternoon relaxing at the pool, but it was only in the upper 60s today, so after we got lunch at the Rix Sports Bar, we went back to the room for a nap instead. We are in the Ranchos section of the resort, which is the Southwest-themed area.
This evening we went to Disney Springs to watch the M-80s. They are an 80s cover band and were a lot of fun to watch. We stayed for their first two sets, then decided to call it a night as we were cold and exhausted.
