The Epic Wine and Dine Race Weekend – Day 5

Today was Marc’s Birthday. It was also the day the Chiefs played the Dolphins in Germany. The game started at 9:30 this morning so we had breakfast reservations at the Rix Sports Bar and Grill here at our resort, so Marc could watch it. We were both awake early and needed coffee, so we walked over to the Barcelona Lounge to get some. I found a sunny spot to relax while Marc headed back to the room to shower and get ready for breakfast.

At half-time we decided to go to the pool bar to watch the rest of the game. I was ready for a nap at this point, so while Marc stayed at the bar to watch the game, and I found a hammock in the sun to relax.

Marc came and woke me up when the game was over and said he wanted to go to Epcot to listen to Bodh’aktan at the Canada Pavilion. I honestly could have slept here all afternoon, but it was his birthday so off to Epcot we went.

On our way to Canada, we stopped at the Fry Basket and grabbed a Fry Flight and a Salt & Lime Beer.

After listening to the band, we made our way out of Epcot via the International Gateway. Fun Fact: The International Gateway is the “back entrance” to Epcot. It is located between France and the United Kingdom and is the entry/exit point for the Skyliner station or the walkway to the Epcot Resorts. The Skyliner from Epcot travels to Riviera Resort then on to Caribbean Beach Resort, where you can transfer to another Skyliner line to go to either Hollywood Studios or to Pop Century and Art of Animation Resorts.

We took the Skyliner to Hollywood Studios. We watched One Man’s Dream, and rode Star Tours, then wandered around for a while taking pictures and soaking up the atmosphere. (Click on thumbnails for full-sized pictures)

Marc wanted Blaze Pizza for his birthday dinner so we Ubered to Disney Springs where we spent the rest of the evening. On the way out we stopped to listen to Jason and Billy, a couple members of Southbound, one of my favorite local bands. We only ended up staying for one set as we were cold and I was exhausted so decided to call it an early night.

Tomorrow, my parents will be joining us. We will check out of Coronado Springs and move to a condo offsite for a week of relaxation.
