The Flower and Garden, Work and Play Trip – Day 3
Today would be a relaxing work and resort day after not getting to bed until around 1:30 this morning. I slept in a little bit, then got up and took the Skyliner to Riviera Resort for coffee and an order of banana bread from Le Petit Cafe. I have read many reviews that the bread is something you should try if you can. The reviews were spot on. The bread was moist and had chunks of chocolate on the top, which melded well with the banana. I found a place just off the lobby to use for my office. This is a great location; it is quiet and has excellent views of the courtyard, lake, and Skyliner. I spent the rest of the morning working. I could work from this spot every day. I don’t mind putting in a few hours each day when I can work in this atmosphere.
Once I was done working and clocked out, I headed to Bar Riva for a Key West Sunset Ale. Then, I continued around the lake to Caribbean Beach Resort, where I stopped for lunch at Banana Cabana. I had the Calypso Salad with Jerk Chicken. This salad had mixed greens, avocado, red pepper, black beans, tomato, and cilantro-lime vinaigrette. It is super good. I’ve had it before, and it is my go-to when eating here. I also had a Carib Lager to go with it.
After eating, I found a quiet little cove with hammocks to nap in the sun.
When I woke up, I returned to the Skyliner and headed back to Pop Century, where I spent the rest of the afternoon at the pool. I started at one of the quiet pools, located between the 80s and 90s buildings, and then ended my afternoon at the main pool between the 60s buildings. (Pictures from around the resort.)
After getting cleaned up, I wandered around my resort then walked to Art of Animation to explore and take pictures. This value resort is also on the Skyliner and is themed after several popular Disney Movies. Some sections have family suites that sleep 6, making it an excellent choice for families.
Little Mermaid Section.
Lion King Section
Finding Nemo Section
Cars Section (my favorite)
Then, I headed back to Pop Century, where I ordered a slice of pizza from the food court and found a place down by the water to watch Luminous, Epcot’s nightly fireworks show. On my way back to my room, I took a few more pictures of the resort and then called it a night.
