The Flower and Garden, Work and Play Trip – Day 7
This morning, I watched the sunrise from my room, ordered coffee from Fuel, the coffee shop in the lobby, and brought it back to my room to relax and get ready for the day. (for full-sized photos, click on the pictures below)
I needed to work this morning, so I headed to Epcot to find a good spot once I was ready. Here are a few pictures from this morning
I decided to set myself up the newly opened section of World Celebration, which has plenty of countertops and table space. I found a quiet corner to call my office for the morning.
After I finished working, I still needed to find the rest of the hidden Easter Eggs around World Showcase, so I set off on a quest to do that. See my post, 2024 Egg-Stravanganza Scavenger Hunt, for the album of all of them and where to find them.
Along the way, I caught the JAMMitors, a fun group of percussionists dressed like Janitors who play their music on trash cans! Then, I stopped in Mexico for Empanadas and a Tulum. I found a table in the shade to eat and caught a set of Mariachi Cobre, the resident band at the Mexico Pavilion.
Then, I walked around the World Showcase, stopping in American Adventure to listen to Voices of Liberty. They are an amazing acapella group that sings here several times a day. I always listen to them if I get a chance. Then I continued to the UK, where I listened to a set of the Rose and Crown musician. He is so much fun to listen to, and I have been there enough this trip; he remembered me, and we had a nice conversation after his set. Then, I stopped to listen to Command Performance before heading back to my resort.
I spent the rest of the afternoon at the pool, where I made a new little friend. This squirrel, who was not scared of people, was probably waiting for me to drop some food. Unfortunately, I had nothing to share with him, but he kept trying.
After cleaning up, I returned to Epcot to listen to The Orchestra, featuring members from ELO, at the Garden Rocks Concert. Right before the show, I stopped at the Magnolia Terrace, the outdoor kitchen in American Adventure, for a Muffuletta Panini and their beer flight, which I took with me into the show.
I was initially thinking of staying in Epcot for the extra evening hours available to deluxe resort guests, but the crowds were pretty heavy, and I decided I didn’t want to deal with them, so on my way out, I stopped in Morocco to get one of the last things on my must-try food lists. I ordered the Mediterranean Flatbread and Pomegranate Mimosa and found a table in my favorite part of the pavilion to enjoy them.
Then, I watched the nightly fireworks from right outside the park. Although you could not see the fountains in the middle of the World Showcase Lagoon, you could see all the higher fireworks. This was an interesting view with the Skyliner in the foreground. The best part was that I didn’t have to fight crowds leaving the park after the show.
On my way back to my resort, I decided to walk over to the Boardwalk to see if they had any live entertainment. Most evenings, they have buskers along the Boardwalk to entertain guests. I caught the tail end of one show, then was able to watch the magician. It was fun. Then, I took some cool pictures of the moon before calling it a night.
