The Flower and Garden, Work and Play Trip – Day 8

Today was my last day, but since my flight didn’t leave until 7 p.m., I had the whole day to enjoy the warm sunshine before heading back to the cold. I slept in a little bit, picked up coffee from Fuel, the coffee shop in the lobby, and then headed down to the beach area to sit in the sun and work for a little while.  Here is a view of my office for the morning.

I am a Marriott gold member and was able to get a 1 p.m. checkout, so around 11:30, I headed back to my room, packed up my stuff, and called bell services to take my bags for the day. Then, I headed to Epcot for lunch.

I ordered a Cherry Blossom Green Tea Pilsner from the Japanese outdoor festival kitchen and Chicken and Beef Teriyaki from Katsura Grill, a counter-service restaurant in Japan. I found a quiet table in the upper courtyard to enjoy my food and the atmosphere.

After lunch, I took one last stroll around the World Showcase, taking pictures of the last few gardens I had missed the past few days.

Then, I picked up a Coffee Cocktail from the BRUNCHCOT Outdoor Kitchen and did some last-minute shopping before stopping at the Rose and Crown to listen to the piano player one last time this trip.

A few more pictures from around Epcot.

I still had about three hours before I had to leave for the airport, so I stopped by Bell Services, picked up my pool bag, and headed down to the pool to relax and enjoy one last drink.

When I made it back to the airport for my 7 pm flight, I found there was no line for security. That was a pleasant surprise as I was expecting crowds since it was a holiday week. My flights home were smooth, and I finally made it home around midnight.
